Now that you’re informed, I’m getting back to work! 

The funny thing is, no matter how well you’ve planned the transformation, unexpected obstacles continually pop up to slow you down, confuse you or completely stop you in your tracks.  The entire process becomes all about “hope and change” and in the end, you’ve definitely achieved change and you can only hope it’s for the better!

For several years I’ve known that Chele’s Treasures needed a complete overhaul.  What once seemed to be a pretty nifty personalized shopping experience was quickly becoming out-dated and unable to keep up with new technology.  Important service providers I counted on to keep my business thriving were also becoming erratic and undependable at crucial times.  I continued to put the transformation on hold because I was comfortable with the way things were and truthfully dreaded the amount of work that I knew an overhaul would entail.

As luck would have it, my personal life was fundamentally transforming at about the same time our nation was on the brink it’s own transformation.  I set a goal for 2010.  This would be the year of change for myself and Chele’s Treasures… it was now or never.

I weighed all the options, tested new systems, asked for opinions and made a great plan.  It was perfect.  Then I closed my eyes, held my nose and jumped in over my head!  As you have probably noticed, the plan didn’t work out as smoothly as it should have.

In “geek speak” I moved from an ASP shopping cart to a PHP based shopping cart.  This led to changing hosts and other methods of operation, etc.  In layman’s terms, you could pretty much say I decided I didn’t like speaking my own language anymore, so I decided to adopt a new one over night.  Only, for some reason, I didn’t think a translator would be necessary.  Clear as mud? 

So here we are… dazed and confused.  Chele’s Treasures received change and I sure hope it works out!

What does this mean for you, my loyal customer?
Unfortunately, it means you may not find what you need as quickly as before.  I royally fouled this up for you.  Please accept my sincere apology and contact me so I can point you in the right direction or assist you.  Hopefully, after the dust has settled you’ll find the changes are an improvement.

I sincerely thank you for being a loyal and patient customer.  After just shy of a decade of serving many of you, I am absolutely reminded that you are my true treasures.  I have been honored to serve you over the years and I look forward to serving you in the future.

The “Fundamental Transformation” example is not meant to offend anyone.  I respect that everyone has an opinion and the right to it in our great nation.  It is simply used as an example that most everyone can relate to at this time, regardless of their personal views.  All change comes with some resistance and growing pain.  All plans are not fool-proof or fail-safe.  Thank goodness we are human with the ability to transform or restore, if needed!
